GamesThe maximum
strokes on any hole is 10. All players should pick up after
10 shots. No mulligans or “gimme’s” allowed for players
participating in a game with cash prizes. Those
players must play their tee shot and putt out. Game
participants must keep track of scores up to 10 strokes per
hole, but use the ESC (Equitable Stroke Control) system when
posting scores for their handicap.
Best 9 Holes
Choose your best 9 holes. Deduct 1/2 of your handicap from
the best 9 to record your net score.
Blind Holes
After all players have left the first tee, a blind draw
determines which nine holes of the 18 played will count
toward everyone’s total score — the other holes will be
crossed out — so the players have no knowledge of which
holes will count until they complete their rounds. One-half
of Course Handicaps are used to compile net totals.
Blind Partners
Players may play with anyone of their choice. Partners are
not drawn until the last group has teed off, so a player
does not know her partner until she has finished. The winner
is the team with the lowest better-ball score.
Gross
Actual number of strokes plus any penalty strokes taken by a
player.
Gross Minus Putts
Gross score less any strokes taken on the putting green.
Putts from the fringe are counted.
Low Net
Each individual takes her gross score and then subtracts her handicap.
Low Putts
Keep your regular score for handicap. Keep track of total
number of putts. Only count strokes that are on putting
surface.
Most 3’s, 4’s & 5’s
Players use full Course Handicap, taking strokes as
designated on the score card. Prizes are awarded to the
players scoring the most 3s, 4s and 5s.
Nassau
Made up of 3 matches. The front 9 holes make up the 1st
match, the back 9 the 2nd, and the 18 hole total makes up
the 3rd.
Pick 4 Clubs
Pick out the 4 clubs you want to use (plus your putter) and
use only these 4 clubs all 18 holes.
Superball
Team format where only the good shots are played. Each
golfer tees off. The next shot is played from the location
of the best lie. Teams with less than 4 golfers should
alternate taking the extra shot, so that each team has 4
shots from which to choose. Balls may be played within 1
club length of the lie, but may not be removed from a
hazard or out of the rough. One score is kept as the team
score.
Team Net Best Ball
This refers to a team event which may comprise 2, 3 or 4
players. Each player will have her stroke allowance and the
lowest net score would be recorded at each hole. The total
for the complete round would be the team's best-ball score.
Toss Out 3 Worst Holes
At the completion of the round, each player will subtract
the 3 worst holes from her gross total. From the new gross
total, the player will subtract her handicap for her new
score.
